Christian Pippan
Christian Pippan is Assistant Professor at the Department of International Law and International Relations at the University of Graz. He received his doctoral title (Dr. iur.) in 2001 at the University of Graz. 2002-2004 Hauser Scholar and Emile Noël Fellow at the New York University School of Law. 2006 Visiting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg. 2009 Visiting Fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at the University of Cambridge. 2012-2015 Executive Coordinator of the partnership project "APLHRE" with the University of Addis Ababa, as part of the Austrian Partnership Program in Higher Education and Research for Development of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). Christian Pippan's research interests include the law and practice of the United Nations; self-determination, recognition and statehood; international law and democratic governance; and the protection of democracy and the rule of law by regional institutions.
